SPRING SUMMER S/S 2019 CAMPAIGN

As with the stylistic variations of baroque piano, Laia Aguilar always finds inspiration in certain recurring themes, such as vintage clothing, typography, the work of certain painters, architects and interior designers, in order to create her collections, nurturing enriching dialogues between one collection and another, whilst introducing new worlds and visions.
With these new styles for the Spring/Summer 19 collection, Laia pays homage to the romantic world of flowers and the richness of their colour palette, combining this with the dazzling and radical style of classic rock stars. At the same time, Laia stays true to one of her recurrent references: the muted colours of Eric Rohmer's films.
Within the new collection we see the elegance of 1970s Saint Tropez, military strength and the delight of young girls playing princesses. Classic and vintage patterns, pieces sprinkled with truth and charm, inspiration from cartoons by Tex Avery, and the natural elegance of iconic figures such as Lauren Hutton, Caroline Bassette and John Kennedy, or Brooke Shields and Jackie Kennedy in their youth.

FALL WINTER F/W 2018 CAMPAIGN

In Fall/Winter 2018 collection, Laia Aguilar achieves the unexpected in her new collection for The Animals Observatory: forging a dialogue in her designs between Johnny Rotten of the ’70s and Italian country clothing of the ’50s. The painters Serge Poliakoff and Milton Avery assist her with a new colour palette. Irving Penn’s portraits and Roger Mayne’s street photos add their perspectives to her world, and an old deck of poker cards bought in a modest store in New York flies over the entire collection like a musical chord. FW 18 is life and truth for The Animals Observatory. Once again, Laia Aguilar’s unwavering vision of revival and curiosity influence the world of children’s fashion.
