FALL WINTER F/W 2019 CAMPAIGN

Laia Aguilar’s vision for Fall/Winter 2019 was to place elegance at the heart of the entire collection. This is a more ordered and reserved collection, although it still packs a punch, particularly in terms of the chosen colour palette, inspired by the chromatic range used by artists such as Dadaist painter, Jean Arp and American abstract painter, Morris Louis.

The designs and selection of fabrics also reflect numerous iconic references: from the masculine elegance of Steve McQueen and Paul Newman to the effortless chic of Jane Birkin and Jane Seberg, as well as drawing inspiration from Italian street style and old Balenciaga collections. The stars of the collection include gently-draping, sophisticated skirts, its velvet range, soft wool, furry jackets, the sheen of a dreamy lurex and the strength and softness of corduroy. With additional key features, such as plush pieces with melange, denim jackets and tights made out of synthetic materials extracted from ocean plastic.

Ordered, passionate and fearless, in this new Fall/Winter 2019 collection, Laia Aguilar puts a new twist on her signature design, creating an integral collection that has once more been complemented by the multiple influences that her imagination has examined with a fine-tooth comb.

SPRING SUMMER S/S 2019 CAMPAIGN

As with the stylistic variations of baroque piano, Laia Aguilar always finds inspiration in certain recurring themes, such as vintage clothing, typography, the work of certain painters, architects and interior designers, in order to create her collections, nurturing enriching dialogues between one collection and another, whilst introducing new worlds and visions.

With these new styles for the Spring/Summer 19 collection, Laia pays homage to the romantic world of flowers and the richness of their colour palette, combining this with the dazzling and radical style of classic rock stars. At the same time, Laia stays true to one of her recurrent references: the muted colours of Eric Rohmer's films.

Within the new collection we see the elegance of 1970s Saint Tropez, military strength and the delight of young girls playing princesses. Classic and vintage patterns, pieces sprinkled with truth and charm, inspiration from cartoons by Tex Avery, and the natural elegance of iconic figures such as Lauren Hutton, Caroline Bassette and John Kennedy, or Brooke Shields and Jackie Kennedy in their youth.
