You may know her as the wanderlust traveler @frecklesnur on Instagram, or perhaps as the plant-based skincare brand Rowse’s Co-founder and Creative Director. Her name is none other than Nuria Val, and she is a truly restless person. Always with new projects in mind, she loves nature, photography and, of course, traveling the world.

Nuria is also a mother since the end of 2021. Her daughter’s name is Olivia and she has shaken up her and her husband’s, also photographer Coke Bartrina, world. Nevertheless, she still manages to keep traveling as well as running a business and taking pictures of any corner of the world.

She is also our latest campaign protagonist, along with her baby daughter, Oli. This adorable little girl is starting to discover the world and Nuria wants to make sure to share this once-in-a-lifetime experience with her. We had the opportunity to talk with her a few days ago, and this is what came up.

Interview with Nuria Val

Modeling, photography, traveling… You are a woman of many passions. Could you pick one of them?

It would be hard for me to choose one of them, as I feel everything is part of the same lifestyle. Being a model gave me the opportunity to travel around the world when I was very young. I was able to learn about other cultures, places, and of course being close to nature, which is one of the main subjects of my work as a photographer. Being involved in many different creative processes is something I need in order to nourish me, inspire me and satisfy my curiosity.

Do you still travel that much? Is it difficult to combine with motherhood?

Yes, I still travel a lot. Sometimes it is hard to manage, but we are very lucky to have such an adaptive family. My husband is also a photographer, so we both understand each other’s work and we try to do the best we can for Olivia. Moreover, we work together a lot, so sometimes we are able to take her with us!

What about Olivia? What do you enjoy the most about being her mother?

To be honest, I enjoy everything, I have felt super comfortable being Oli’s mom since day one. She’s a really happy kid and I love showing the world to her, it feels like we are both discovering things every day.

When and how did you learn about The Animals Observatory?

I knew about the brand before I was pregnant. I always loved the creativity behind it. The Animals Observatory is a very inspiring kids fashion brand and I feel truly connected with the universe that Laia Aguilar has created.

Which styles from Spring-Summer 2023 do you like the most?

My favorite ones are the red boar baby jumpsuit, with its retro feel, and the blue horse bodysuit, the print of which is really adorable.

You are currently involved in many projects. Would you like to highlight any particular one?

I’m preparing now for the summer campaign for Rowse, which is very exciting. New products are coming and I can’t wait to share them! I am also going to Botswana for the first time in my life, and I’m really thrilled about this new adventure.

I hope Oli will be part of a new generation of people that are really making a big impact in changing the world for the better

Are there more projects on the horizon?

Yes, there are some personal projects that I really would like to do this year. One of them is building a summer vegetables and fruits garden in our countryside house. I also dream about designing an A-frame to create cool virtual experiences, this summer.

Which values would you like to pass on to your daughter?

I would love for Oli to be a kind, happy and respectful person. I hope she will be part of a new generation of people that are really making a big impact in changing the world for the better.
